I’m a graduate student at 49 in my last year of studies–I hope! .
I’ve been out of the blogging world for about 5 years working on my BA in English. I’m currently finishing my Masters in Creativity: Women’s Work with enough hours in English to teach at the local community college–if they are hiring.
I was widowed in ‘05 at 44. It’s taken some time for me to get back to where I want to be–or I’m comfortable to be right now. My creativity took a serious beating with my husband’s death and even now I can’t work with my beads long (though I do have pictures of some of my older pieces to share down the road).
I’ve always been surrounded by creative work, much of which has been in the domestic arts. Over the centuries, this type of work is often discounted as people consider only creative endeavors of “fine” or “high” art worthy. Creativity is everywhere, we just have to open our minds to find it. I believe that everyone is creative but most have just forgotten how to access their creative side or have been frightened away from it by critical voices in their lives.
So I’m going to putter and mutter about whatever my fascination is of the moment. Along the way, I’ll add samples of my adventures in studies and media.
Oh, I don’t promise “high” art just some play. You’re welcome to join me as I delve into the world around me.
